Filmon Ghirmai, German Champion for 3000 meters steeplechase, here in the United states

EAAA runner from Germany, Filmon Ghirmai, has been training in Arizona for about a month. Filmon has come to the states for a four week training in a high altitude.  This marks his third visit to the United states for training. EAAA sent an invitation to Filmon and offered a free plane ticket so that he can stay for the party in Washington DC but due heavy training schedule and competitions in Europe, he was unable to stay for the party. He thanked EAAA and hoped that he will get another opportunity to meet EAAA members of North America. Filmon is due to fly back to Germany this weekend. It is recalled that Filmon registered the best German time for 3000 meters about two years ago. One of his goals is to qualify for the World Championships in Athletics. Zerisenay Tadesse, Yonas Kifle, Samson Kiflemariam, Simret Sultan and other Eritrean runners has set goals to train hard so that they can qualify for the World Championships in Athletics too.
