Two EAAA runners, Simon and Nef, registered great time in Mt. SAC 5000 meters

The Wisconsin men's track and field team member, Simon Bairu, was top finisher from his school at Mt. SAC's 5000 meters invitational held in Walnut, California.

Junior Simon Bairu finished 12th in the invitational 5000 meters in a regional qualifying time and personal best time of 13:43.72. Simon shaved his personal best time by about two minutes.

In the same competition of 5000 meters, Neftalem Araia of Stanford University finished 14th with a regional qualifying time of 13:47.72.

Neftalem is happy with his great time at the meet. Neftalem reported from California saying: " I saw simon for a brief moments right before we started. He wished me good luck and  I wished him the same."

Simon, who is preparing for his 10k on May first,  was happy with his personal record time added that the meet was a good lesson for his 10K competition.

Both Nef and Simon registered this victory facing professional runners !
