Simon Bairu: Our national Champion
Simon Bairu won the NCAA national Cross
country championships for the second year consecutive which was held in Indiana on the 21st
of Novermber, 2005.
Simon Bairu is
recognized by US Track Coaches Association with National Athlete of the
Year honor and his Coach, schumacher, has received coach of the Year Honor.
Simon Bairu as part of the the top six Wisconsin
finishers earned All-America honors too.
In the same
competition, Nef Araia finished 11th over all being the top Stanford University finisher and earning all
American honors.
Giliat Ghebray
also finished 63rd out of 253 top USA college runners. Giliat
opened the door to National Champinships for University of California
that it did not have for 5 years.
